Set up a Featured Sticky Post

Normally with WordPress, you set a post to be a “Sticky” post which keeps the post at the top of your blog list of post summaries. You can still do this with PostMagazine, but I’ve added a new feature which lets you display a Sticky post on its own above everything in a nicely styled box:

pm featured sticky

This will only show on the front-page blog, or if your blog is further in your website. You also have the choice to display sticky posts in your blog in addition to this featured one, or you can disable the showing of sticky posts in the blog itself.

Setup Your Featured Sticky Post

  1. Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Theme Options
  2. Look for the “Show Front Page Sticky Post” setting and check the box
    pm show featured sticky
  3. If you want to hide regular sticky posts from the main blog list, check the box next to “Hide Default Sticky Posts
    pm hide sticky posts
  4. Select the category you want to display the featured post from (Make sure you have a post in that category that is set as a “sticky” post).
    pm featured sticky category
  5. Click “Save & Publish
