To give you more visual content on your front page, this theme includes a Featured Box option which loads up to 4 images with an overlay title of the page. These are set by creating pages with content and adding a featured image to each page, which in turn is used to create what you see on the front page:
Set Your Featured Boxes
Before you continue with the setup, you will want to make sure you have your pages created with the featured images attached. I would also recommend using larger and better quality photos. When uploading images to your pages, this theme will create your thumbnails for you.
IMPORTANT: To use this feature, you must be using the “Front Page Featured Boxes” template. Create or edit a Page (not a Post), and then, on the right sidebar, under Page Attributes, select it under Template. So, when you create a page, this template has the coding to show the boxes. Normally this is for setting up a static front page (instead of your blog). Also note that this template does not have “content” coding. This means if you type something in the editor when creating this page, your content won’t be seen.
- Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Theme Options >> Featured Boxes
- Check the box next to “Display Featured Boxes” to enable it.
- Select the pages for each box
- You can also adjust the overall width of the container these boxes are in, so you can use the slide to change the width:
- Click “Save & Publish“
