This tutorial has been updated as of March 29, 2018 because we had to make a big change to how the bottom page photo background is implemented. Previously we were using the WordPress custom Header Image feature, but this was causing some confusion with some users due to the Admin menu still showing as “Header“. We also realized that using a feature that is meant for the header, was not appropriate for the use we gave it in this theme.
With the changes, we have kept the theme feature of having the photo background as before, but this is now handled as an image upload through the customizer.
About Our Demo
We edited the image so that it blends in with the content white space, but you can choose any photo that you want and make whatever edits you want. However, this theme does include the photo you see as the default page bottom image.
Change the Bottom Photo Background
Recommended size is 1920×545 pixels for very large screens, but you should still be able to get a good quality background with anything around 1600×545 pixels. However, every photo is different, so you can use what works best for you.
Note: The theme also has CSS styling that uses “cover” to stretch the image to fill any window size.
- Go to Appearance >> Background ….or to Appearance >> Customize >> Background Images
- Look for the “Content Bottom Background Image” setting
- to remove the photo, click the “Remove” button, or you can add more images to change it.
- If you are uploading a new photo, use the “Add new image” button.
- Click “Save & Publish“
