Use excerpts and edit how many words to show

With most themes, I generally recommend using the excerpts option because it gives a much better look and feel when it relates to using featured images or style formatting within your post’s summary (excerpt). Excerpts in WordPress will strip any formatting out, but brings it back when the full post is viewed.

Please note that excerpts are used on the “Card“, “List“, and “Masonry” blog layouts. However, the excerpt choice is applied only to the default “Default” blog layout style. With the “Default” style, when choosing the “Excerpt” option, you almost get a 5th blog layout given to you because we’ve designed it to be centered.
