Choose your header style

In the previous version of PostMagazine Pro, we had an option to add a background image to the header; not very popular. So we decided to get rid of it and replace it with a much better option — the choice of different header styles and layouts.

The first three utilize the post slider (optional), but the forth option is strictly using the WordPress Custom Header Image feature (a function of WordPress). The fourth option lets you upload multiple photos that can be set to “randomize” on every page refresh or visit. It should also be noted that adding a slider to your site when using this header choice will look odd and is really only meant for smaller “blog” only sites that want to keep things fairly simple and maintain the same/changing header image across every page. Your site title or logo will sit centered on top of the photo(s) and your menu will float to the top of the screen.

Choose Your Header Style

  1. Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Theme Options
  2. Find the “Header Style” setting and make your choice

  3. Click “Save & Publish

Using the WP Custom Header Image Option

If you decide to use the custom header (Header Image) option, you will set the option from the above steps, but to change the images and set it to randomize, we need to go to the Header Image tab in the customizer.

NOTE: This only works when using the Header Style 4 option.

  1. Go to Appearance >> Header Image (or if you are in the customizer, go to the “Header Image” tab).
  2. By default, this theme includes one image for you, but you can remove it or add more photos.
    pm wp header setting
  3. Photo size is 1600×520 pixels, but when uploading photos, you get a cropping tool to finish the header image insertion.
  4. If you want to randomize your photos, click on the “Randomize Suggested headers” button.
  5. Click “Save & Publish
