Hi guys, Please help…
I have just bought the theme and I am stressing out because when I use a static homepage I cannot get the featured boxes to show. If I switch to latest post homepage the featured boxes show.
Please advise I need a static page and I need the featured boxes.
Thanks

Hi Shaun….I will take a look into this on our local test site. If there is a bug, we will fix it right away.
As a side note, do you have a link to where your site is? -

Quick follow up….I just created a static front page for the test site and was able to set the featured boxes.
Just to confirm, did you follow this tutorial?….and to make sure the checkbox next to “Display Featured Boxes” ? Also, it’s important to make sure you have pages setup and selected in the dropdown choices.

Hi Andre
I have followed all the steps and to be clear…
When I change from a static page the boxes appear. But do not show when I select a static page.
The link for the site its:
https://newwebsite.leegolf.co.uk/
Its under development still.
Thank you

Sorry for late reply…just starting my day (very late). Thank you for the link to your development site and additional info. I found the problem. There was a piece of code for a conditional, that is, it basically was saying if this, then do that. However, the “if this” part was incorrect as it was saying it it’s the home page (which refers to the blog posts page), then show the Featured Boxes. It should have said, if it’s the front page, then show (regardless if it’s a page or the blog).
Long story short, there was indeed a bug and I just uploaded version 1.0.1 of the theme, so you should be getting an update notice in your site’s admin area for it. However, if you don’t get this, even if you go and click to check for updates, let me know. You can still get the updated version by downloading the file again, but you will need to manually upload the files to overwrite the existing theme files.

You have perfect timing…it’s about 2am where I am and was about to head off to the land of sleep shortly 🙂
However, I want to follow up here before I leave.Anyway, I just went to check and noticed you have not activated your site with the theme license key. Not sure if you followed the setup tutorial for Activating or not? Doing this should give you the update notification.
However, you can still re-download the theme file, and then unzip the file and then upload it using an FTP program. I talk about this here:
https://www.bloggingthemestyles.com/blog/how-to-update-your-wordpress-theme/There is one other method that I know some people have done where they simply deleted the theme, then installed the updated version. According to them, their settings and everything stayed put. If you are brave enough to try that, this is one possibility. I’ve never tried that myself.
I will be here for awhile if you have further questions.

Thank you Andre
Sorry to keep you up.
I have followed the activation instructions but now get a message which reads “This appears to be an invalid license key for”.
Could you send me a link to download the new update in a zip file as the old link expires after a time period. As soon as I can get this updated I doubt I will need to contact you again. lol
Thank you

You got it?
I just went to your site and see it’s now version 1.0.1, and I see your first Featured Box there too.
Hopefully it went well for you…and no need to apologize either. I’m working late to finish up on the next new theme for Blogging Theme Styles, so I’m used to working up until even 4am, but I like to make sure everyone is looked after first 🙂
