I purchased Equable Pro about two weeks ago and am getting nowhere. Not only do my changes not remain unless I go to autosave (I can’t find anything that resembles a “save” button or option anywhere), but I can’t change any of the colors. Every day I go in, redo everything that’s now gone, or get it back with autosave and keep trying to change the colors! Nothing I do works, and I’m feeling frustrated that I spent $50 for something I can’t figure out how to use. I’d really like to get up and running. What am I doing wrong? I’m using a Mac, if that helps.

      Hi Neva,

I’d love to see a screenshot of the area you are mentioning, the one that doesn’t let you save. You’re not meant to re-do it every day. It’s supposed to be a one time thing. The button should be called Publish, not save. That’s part of WordPress, not our theme.

Do you see a publish button?

I’ll help you with this and hopefully we can resolve it with you.

      Hi, Ramsey!

Sorry for the delay, I had to make a short trip out of town.

I did find a way to get a “save draft” button to come up, so now my changes don’t disappear! I haven’t launched my site yet, so didn’t know if “publish” would be the right button to use. As you can see, I’m having difficulty differentiating between what is the theme and what is WordPress. So what I’m trying to do right now is to customize the theme.

My other issue is unresolved – I still can’t customize the colors. I’ve attached a screen shot (if that’s any help) of the area I’m working in. I choose colors, but nothing changes.

Eessh! I must sound like a real idiot, it’s just that I have little technological expertise and only want to set up a blog as easily as possible. It’s just not so easy. 🙂

      Hi Neva,

      I understand, no problem :).

To be honest, there’s no real easy system out there as it’s technology that is filled with options. There are, however, varying degrees of challenges and difficulties.

We try our best to keep our themes simple but with enough options to customize it here and there. The rest can be customized via plugins or custom coding. That way, you get a theme that goes so well with WordPress and that won’t bring problems.

Based on the screenshot you sent, I cannot see the blue Publish button on top. Is there more to that screenshot? Or, better yet, is your browser maximized so that you can see all the corners in there? It might be hiding the extra content/buttons.

        Hi, Ramsey.

Attached is another screenshot showing the Save Draft as well as the Publish buttons. I was unable to get a Save Draft button until I uninstalled the theme, went into my Mac and disabled the function which automatically opens zip files (as advised in an article I’d found when researching my problem), then downloaded the them again as a zip, uploaded it on Bluehost – and then I could save drafts.

I’m still unable to customize colors or do much of anything else. I’m now wondering if I should have simply made do with the free version of this theme as it seems you need some kind of expertise in site building to do any customization?

      Hi Neva,

All you can do is press the publish button (Which appears after clicking the cog icon). Then, the publish button should remain there and you won’t have a need to click on the cog icon to access it.

About colors not showing up, may I have your website URL?
Is it possible to create for us a temporary username and password with administrator role? We’ll go in and take a look.

Some color changes might not show up if there’s no element available. Example, if you want to change some colors that affect titles only but no titles are available on the screen you’re looking at, then nothing will appear to be changing. They could be available on other pages, or have to be added in WordPress.

      Hi, Ramsey.

I’m hoping this is the url that you need:https://catepentreath.com/wp-admin/customize.php?return=%2Fwp-admin%2F

Nothing in the customizable areas seem to work except to load pics and to change text. In the section where it allows you to click to display the date, it’s clicked, but no date is displayed. I have no idea how to change font size or color, or to add any color to the page except leaving it white, as is.

I’m working on a Mac, so wondering if there’s something wrong there? Maybe I uploaded the theme incorrectly?

Yes, you can do a temporary entry to the page! I’m completely at a standstill as I don’t know what I’m doing at this point.

Thank you SO MUCH for your patience and assistance with this!

      Hi Neva,

Can you send us a contact request here?: https://www.bloggingthemestyles.com/contact/

Can you also include a username and password for us? You can follow these instructions to set one up: https://make.wordpress.org/support/user-manual/customizing-wordpress/managing-users-on-your-wordpress-site/adding-users-to-your-wordpress-site/

We need it to be administrator role. You can use any email, username, and password that you would like.

That way, you can send the username and password via the secure contact form. We’ll go in and take a look to see if there’s any issue.

      Thanks!
